The Way of the Warrior
David is a strong man who thinks before act. He has great taste for blades in general and Japanese stuff so, here comes the Bushido again. Bushido or "The Way of the Warrior" is a philosophy which is under seven codes followed by samurais. David has a long hair, exactly as samurais use to have but he does not look like one just in his physical appearance; he has a strong personality and the most important: determination for doing things better, something that strongly resembles their behavior. He fights for what he wants instead of being a lazy person who simply waits everything happen; laziness is something strictly forbidden on their way of being. Additionally, the seven codes can represent 7 weapons used they use to fight to a better world; exactly the number of weapons David is capable of creating during his worst nightmare to make the future of that situation better. Coincidence or not, his way of being is very similar to this set of codes because he probably follows it since a long time ago like previously reported.
Benevolence [仁] - David is the reserved kind of person who does not please everyone. He will care about those who most suit him, expressing his benevolence to them in a different manner. He is a good person but his benevolence is selective to those who act the way he most expect: respecting him properly because he fights for this.
Bravery [勇] - His bravery sometimes looks something extraordinary but this is the truth and probably the code he is most suitable. He fights for what he wants in all ways he can and he is unstoppable until reaching his goal; until finish what he have started.
Honor [名誉] - David's proof of honor lays on his relative simple trade. His hard-working activity is a way of showing his huge dedication to his job because this is how he attempts to honestly gain public consideration or simply respect from people around him.
Justice [義] - His sense of justice is highly developed in what refers to pay for what you have done. The best example for this is the End of the Road Scenario. David sees that the idea of releasing the Tyrant was the most stupid Carter had and when Carter is knocked down by the creature he supposed to be able to control, David says "It's all your fault, dick." He may look cruel. But even not knowing exactly what a Tyrant was, his instincts leaded him to believe that dealing with such a powerful creature would just end up bad. So, if someone who is supposed to know all the bad consequences his or her actions can bring decides to act insanely, this person is not worth of any mercy if something bad happens with him/her.
Loyalty [忠義] - Once someone shows that he or she is trustful, he will go along with this person facing the most extreme situations that might come fighting fiercely if necessary. If a friend of him falls, he does not leave his friend behind; he offers his shoulder in order to raise him or her up again and keep moving.
Politeness [礼] - This is a real question mark. David will not curse anyone without a reason. He will probably not interact with someone who does not match his personality or does not dispose of something he admires but he will always answer this person properly according to what he or she does or intends to do with him or with his surroundings. He is not a gentleman who will pleasure everyone. He will never disrespect people unless he has no choice but if a person is not of his taste, he will keep far from him or her in order to avoid any unnecessary stressful situation. He possesses a coarse language brought from his past and is frequently speaking "idiot", "freak", "asshole", "shit", "poor bastard", "son of a …", "motherfucker" because he is most part of the time pissed off with the situation but is something he seems to be trying to change too because he speaks these stuff in a lower frequency than some others. Anyway, this is a point which needs improvement.
Veracity [誠] - Actually, respecting the truth is what I most do but the whole situation can be seen as the truth he respects. The truth is that the whole city is being overtaken by a new treat; he just discovers what is causing it moments before leaving the town. Even thinking that the whole craziness is unbelievable, unreal, a bad dream, a nightmare or a stupid game, he does not act like if there was nothing happening around him. Stuff he says can be funny sometimes but he is not kidding or joking. He keeps his seriousness when facing every difficult situation, paying attention on everything in order to plan his moves wisely because he knows they are real and there will probably not be a turning back if he fails. His way of dealing with the situation is a good manner of respecting the truth he is living.
David is not a real samurai because the game does not explicitly show this. He has a long way ahead to become one but the samurai the figure that most represents his future; for me, the figure which most represents the whole of him. Like previously mentioned, this is how he probably started to change his life; and once his change started this way, this is how it should end up as well.
