The Aftermath

After escaping Raccoon City, his first reward was received. Even the game not showing this important moment, as a reward for saving her as she proposed before, Linda cures his infection and then, he has nothing else to do instead of leaving the country on a ship and forget the incident like a bad dream he had.

At the port, and uses a public phone to give someone a call in order to speak his last few words before leaving. By the words he uses, it seems that his call was a bad idea and he finishes it in order of not arguing with the person who probably tried to play a joke on him talking something about what had just finished. He says "Hm… I suppose idle talk has its place sometimes. No, I'm being serious." before finishing the call and walking towards the "Silver Star" ship.

David is the only character who does not dress the Type B suit during his epilogue. In other words, he is not dressed as a gangster but as a man of class. His jacket and pants are the same but his black shoes, normal white T-shirt and hair with front loose are sufficient to change his original look from the Club Scene suit. Additionally, his Red Sun pendant over this suit shows his hope on the future that is just starting for him.

David enters on the ship looking to the sun and stops for a moment. Then, he walks to the border of the ship and stops laying his arms over the fence from where he keeps looking that important moment of the day; the moment he watches the sun coming to light a new day on his life. He does not care about the unpleasant talk he was about to have; he simply contemplates the moment like another reward just gained. On a moment of solace, he bends his head down and raises it, leaving a beautiful smile certain that his mission was accomplished; a smile which wasn't on his face for a long time.

Relationship

David is fascinated by Japanese culture and history and Yoko is a Japanese descendant; the main reason why they go along together. David is not in charge of the safety of the surroundings by trade; he is a plumber with a violent past which is probably the reason for not been seen as a trusty person but this is not a reason to keep her away from him. She has a loss of memory during the whole game as a consequence of cell donation for T-Virus research followed by a surgery for not remembering what happened. This previous event probably leads her to be a little pessimistic when facing that troublesome situation but she does not give up; she keeps fighting to the end even not disposing of physical strength like him. Yoko is slow and weak but she is extremely helpful and this is probably what he most admires on her. She follows him everywhere looking for protection because she knows he is capable of offering this to her and he does not bother with her attitude even preferring to work alone. She follows his instructions, turning his job much easier and not giving him reasons for getting irritate with her presence. He does not get pissed off with her no matter what happens.

Unfortunately, the contrary does not happen on the game probably because David is a little afraid of showing his true feelings to her. He will not follow her instructions or her way on every place she goes but he will be frequently gathering weapon items and fighting to keep the place surrounding her safe. He looks after in a different way which sometimes seems that he does not care about her because he does not remain on her side the whole time like she does with him. But in fact, guaranteeing her safety by eliminating threats or even die trying is how he prefers to do this duty during the game.

After the incident, David leaves the country on a ship and Yoko goes with Linda to the court in order to help finishing with the Umbrella Corporation. A close aftermath meeting is possible if they have the same place in mind. Once the University has gone, Yoko has probably no reason to remain in United States either. David is commonly known as the “Lone Wolf” character of the game thanks to his independent behavior and to his insensitive look but his soft side is expressed when Yoko is near. He also does not like anyone else around when she’s close. Sometimes, he simply leaves the room when others appear. Their relationship in game is something very slightly but they match each other in many ways. Yoko is probably the most important person he needs and that can be the reason that makes him care a lot about her safety during the game.
