The Plumber

David is a plumber by trade who uses his job to honestly gain respect from people. He works for the company Raccoon City Plumbers in Raccoon City, the city where he was probably born and lived his entire turbulent past. His moody appearance reveals his hard working activity in order to make his future different from his past. Therefore, it is probably the most important thing he has in life. Love for his trade was a consequence after having no other choice. The oil marks on his Boiler Suit and his abilities throughout the game are a direct reflex of his dedication to his job. His abilities are also mixed with his survivor skills coming from his dark past. So, he is not just able to fix plumbs as a normal plumber would do. He can also to create ad-lib weapons using tools and provide some quick repair to broken items turning them useful again. The stuff he creates is relatively simple and does not require any expensive or rare type of material but is extremely useful in certain circumstances. David is a practical handyman who uses efficiently what is poorly supplied to him probably because once ago he passed by a similar kind of extreme situation and had to learn this feature order to keep moving. From the daily life to the worst nightmare, he is a survivor because he is strong not just physically. When he figures a goal, he is unstoppable until reaching it; it is a part of his personality and he perfectly knows that "Weak are hunted. Law of nature."

One of his pieces of jewel is the whole time in evidence next to his heart. The Boiler Suit opened in the thorax reveals his personal touch on his clothing. In an analogue way, the Red Sun Pendant he wears on neck is a symbol of trust that his job will illuminate his future like the sun illuminates a new day. The moment he decided to change his life is probably the moment he started to wear it. It is uncertain if this is a gift but receiving it from the person who taught him the plumber trade makes sense. This pendant is wooden and its worth is completely personal but has an incredible meaning when it is worn with his trade suit.

Besides his abilities, there are several ways of showing his dedication for his job. He can easily recognize a tool or any item related to his job, its applicability and if its use is practical or not according to his description of the some special items. On 'Safety Shoes', the steel-tipped toes are a nice safety feature, but they made the shoes too heavy to be practical; 'Gold Nail Puller' is a nail puller made of gold which probably wasn't used; 'Work Gloves', is a pair of gloves made of thick leather; 'Silver Nail' looks like an ordinary nail, but it's made out of pure silver; 'Nuts & Bolts' at first, he thought were ordinary nuts and bolts but they look like decorations; 'Measuring Device' is a really accurate measuring device which he uses one like it every day at work; '3-minute cement' is a cement for emergency repairs that when mixed with water, it hardens in 3 minutes but can't be strong, though; 'Long Wrench', at almost 2 feet long, gives good leverage. Pretty flimsy, though. Wouldn't make a good weapon; 'Lion Wrench' is a wrench with a roaring lion carved into the head. Nuts fit in the open mouth. Doesn't look very practical; 'Nanomeasure' is a tool that measures distance in nanometers. The writing's far too small to make out, though; 'Mermaid claw' is a nail-removing claw with the image of a mermaid carved into it and inlaid jewels. What a waste; 'Tool Cleaner' is a 'Revolutionary polymer technology makes your tools gleam like new!' This should be useful; 'Super Pliers' are pliers specially made to double the strength put into them. This is a nice little item and 'Camera Wrench' is probably the most ridiculous item he has ever seen once his opinion is "Who's stupid idea was this? How pointless. Why did I even bother picking this up?" So, he has a vast knowledge on what he does as a trade; the first step for conquering the trust of people who calls his job.

As previously shown, several items have an image of a lion craved on them or something that resembles a lion. This is probably the animal he most admires and likens himself; strong, dominant, fierce, adaptive and resilient. Strength makes him move forward, dominance leads him to the improvement and fierceness makes him unstoppable. His job is his moment of expressing mainly his resilience and adaptability when fighting under two different conditions: the daily life and the worst nightmare. Adaptability makes him act different on different situations and resilience raises him up after a difficult moment giving him strength and closing the cycle.

David hates driving because he knows how to drive the truck he owns; probably an old small one. According to the description of the 'Screwdriver Set', he declares that "It's cheap, but sturdy. I've always liked this brand. In fact, I keep a set just like this in my truck." Therefore, he occasionally had to drive his truck for working. His hate for driving is probably because of people who do not make streets a pleasant place to be. When he faces the big truck crashed in the middle of the street at the beginning of the Wild Things scenario, he reveals this feeling.
