Yoko is a quiet and shy Japanese descendant. She is extremely intelligent but she expresses her knowledge just when necessary. She will only speak a lot of words if she needs to act; she is timid and will remain in silence paying attention on everything around her or looking for more knowledge where she can. Yoko is very sweet as well as a friendly kind of person. She is extremely polite and deals with others respecting them. She will never curse someone no matter how angry she becomes with this person. If there is a disagreement between them, she will simply ignore the person without arguing. She is definitely not the aggressive kind of person; not even when facing her worst enemies. Her bravery is something hidden behind her fragile appearance and when focused on something, nobody avoids her attention easily. She is also determined and sometimes unstoppable; features that makes her strong even not physically.
There are many cute special items that reveal her sweet behavior including those related to one of her costumes. ‘Green Dress’ is a cute green dress and ‘Cute Sneakers’ she wonders if these are too childish for her. ‘Cute Strap’ is the kind of strap people in Japan use on their cell phones and it has a cute little dog on it and it contrasts with the ‘Awful Strap’ which is the kind of strap people in Japan use on their cell phones that has a creepy skull on it revealing her fear of anything related to death. She is also scared about things involving huge, wild and consequently dangerous animals like ‘Prescription slip’ shows. It is for animal tranquilizers and ingredients are listed on the back. She has a bad feeling about this... Yoko cares about her beauty too. ‘Salon pamphlet’ is a pamphlet for a new beauty salon that makes she thinks that she should changer her hairstyle after reading "Grand Opening Sale! 20% OFF!" and ‘Make-up set’ is a make-up set for preteen girls which is enough for her and she should use a cheap set like this to practice. ‘Flowery Yukata’ is a Japanese summer garment with a hydrangea pattern which is a little big on her, but it's so nice....
Coincidence or not, Yoko is also a reader of Japanese comic books. ‘Seize Tomorrow’ must be what her mom calls “manga.” This subtitle is “Fierce-blooded Heart Story” and she doesn’t get it... and ‘Young Girls’ Comics’ is a Japanese comic book about true love. She likes novels well enough. Why not try this for a change of pace?”. ‘Love Yourself” is not exactly a comics book but it also talks about love; chapters include: “Self-love without the mess” and “I am special”. These books are useful to reveal how childish and insecure she is. Childish is because she didn’t discover love yet and insecurity is probably related to her relative weakness and her loss of memory during the outbreak.
Her Good Luck charm is piece of Japanese jewelry she carries on her bag which is a symbol of her superstitious. She knows that if she carries it around with her, something good will happen even at the most extreme circumstances. At the game, this is the reason why her infection rate is the lowest among the main eight. Enemies’ attacks that are deadly for others are not deadly for her when she is carrying this charm. Actually, the charm is not just able to save her life specifically but the life of who is carrying it. She can give it to everyone she wants when it is necessary. This item is what makes her stronger when living every situation because her belief on her charm is what brings her power for not give up.
Yoko has some Chinese influence that can be another show of her insecurity. She is not addicted to martial arts but one of her costumes is a Kung-fu suit. ‘Kung-fu shoes’ are comfortable, lightweight shoes used in Kung Fu. She’s not really interested in martial arts, but...; ‘Small cap’ is a small cap of woven cotton which looks Chinese. She wonders how she'd look in it..; ‘Kung Fu Pants’ are comfortable pants part of a Kung Fu gi. She wonders if they make her look strong. Probably not.... and ‘Kung Fu Top’ is a plain martial arts top that looks Chinese. She wonders if it'd make her look strong. She guesses not.... She is not addicted, not interested and she thinks that she will not look strong thanks to her physical weakness but why not trying at least? This suit suggests an attempt and this is why I consider this an aftermath happening that influences her personality. It can be a consequence of learning the Chinese idiom; fact that will be mentioned soon.
